The Pucić Palace is a small five-star hotel inside Dubrovnik Old Town, on Gundulić Square. Stradun, the cathedral, Rector's Palace and the Old Port are all only a few minutes away on foot.
The hotel occupies a historic Baroque palace, so rooms differ in shape, outlook and size. There is no pool or onsite spa, and cars cannot reach the hotel door because the Old Town is pedestrian-only.
Location: inside Dubrovnik Old Town
The Pucić Palace is at Od Puča 1, beside Gundulić Square in the centre of the Old Town. Stradun is a short walk away, while the cathedral, Rector's Palace and Old Port are close by.
The square is also home to Dubrovnik's morning market, so this is a lively part of the Old Town rather than a quiet residential corner.
Arriving with luggage
Cars cannot enter Dubrovnik Old Town. The Pucić Palace does not have its own parking, and guests arriving by car have to leave the vehicle outside the walls.
The hotel offers porter service from the Old Town drop-off point. A porter can take care of the luggage and escort guests to the hotel, which is useful on the stone streets of the historic centre.

The current accommodation is divided into six categories. Rooms and suites are individually designed and named after notable people from Dubrovnik's history.

Classic rooms are the least suitable if you specifically want an Old Town outlook, as their main light comes through skylights. Deluxe and Corner Deluxe rooms are better choices for views over the square and surrounding streets.
What staying inside the Old Town means
The central location is the reason to stay here. You can walk out of the hotel and be on Stradun, at the cathedral or by the Old Port within minutes.
There are also a few practical differences from staying in Ploče, Lapad or Babin Kuk. There is no hotel parking, no pool, and luggage has to come through the pedestrian streets. Gundulić Square is active in the morning, so rooms facing the square may pick up some early activity from the market.
Restaurants
The hotel currently has two named restaurants:
- Lucijan Restaurant & Caffe is on street level and serves coffee, lunch and dinner in the centre of the Old Town.
- Magdalena Restaurant is on an elevated terrace with views across Old Town rooftops and church domes.
Both are part of the hotel, but they have quite different settings: Lucijan sits directly in the life of the Old Town, while Magdalena is more secluded above the streets.
Banje Beach access
The Pucić Palace does not have its own beach. Hotel guests can request access to a reserved section of Banje Beach.
This beach arrangement requires advance booking and carries an additional fee. Banje is outside the eastern side of the Old Town, within walking distance of the hotel.
Massage and beauty services
There is no full spa at The Pucić Palace. Massage, hairdressing and beautician services can be arranged in the room on request.
The palace
The building began as an urban palace for the Pucić family in the 17th century. It was affected by the 1667 earthquake, which split the original palace into two parts; a small bridge over the adjoining alley still connects them.
The building became Hotel De La Ville in 1895, later operated as Hotel Dubravka and reopened as The Pucić Palace in 2002 after restoration carried out under UNESCO guidelines.
Families and accessibility
The Family Suite has two separate bedrooms and two private bathrooms, making it the most practical category for parents travelling with children.
The hotel is in a historic building inside the pedestrian Old Town. Guests with limited mobility should ask the hotel about the route to the room they are considering, particularly if stairs are a concern.
