What is the Lapad Run?
Lapad Run is organised by Du Motion in cooperation with the Public Health Institute of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. It takes place shortly before Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is designed for recreational participants as well as more experienced runners.
You do not have to race it. Participants can cover either distance by running or walking, which gives the event a different character from a standard competitive road race.
The event also has a charitable element. From every €30 registration fee, €5 is donated to the Dubrovnik Cancer League.
5K or 10K - and you can walk it
The Lapad Run course is based on a 5 km lap around the Lapad area. Participants in the 5K complete one lap, while the 10K consists of two laps.
- 5K: one lap, with a minimum participant age of 10.
- 10K: two laps, with a minimum participant age of 16.
- Running or walking: both are allowed.
- Time limit: 1 hour 30 minutes.
If you are entering with younger family members, check the age requirement for the chosen distance before registering.

Registration, price and race package
Registration costs €30 and is completed online through Du Motion. The 2026 race is limited to 150 participants, so registration can close before the official 12 September deadline if all places are taken.
The race package includes the official Lapad Run T-shirt, participant medal and refreshment.
Because entry availability can change quickly close to the deadline, use the official Du Motion page to confirm that registration is still open before making plans around the race.
Where does the Lapad Run start?
The start and finish are at the beach plateau in Lapad Bay, away from Dubrovnik Old Town and the main Stradun tourist area.
If you are already staying in Lapad, reaching the start on foot is likely to be the simplest option. From the Old Town area, Libertas city buses connect Pile with Lapad. Line 4 is one of the regular Pile-Lapad services, but check the latest timetable before race morning Dubrovnik city bus timetables and map or on the official Libertas website.
If Lapad Run is one of the main reasons for your trip, staying in Lapad also keeps you close to the start. Browse our Dubrovnik hotels and Dubrovnik apartments when comparing accommodation.

Why Lapad Run supports breast cancer prevention
Lapad Run is held in connection with the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Du Motion and the Public Health Institute use the event to encourage regular preventive check-ups, early detection and open discussion about breast cancer.
The event therefore works as both a sporting morning in Lapad and a community awareness campaign. Participants range from experienced runners to recreational runners and walkers.
Before race morning
- Register before 12 September, and earlier if possible because participation is capped at 150.
- Check the official Du Motion page shortly before the event for any changes to race instructions.
- Confirm that you meet the minimum age for your chosen distance.
- Allow enough time to reach the Lapad Bay start before the 09:30 start.
- If travelling by public bus, check the current Saturday timetable rather than relying on an old schedule.
