I am visiting Dubrovnik in early July and was advised by a friend that many local restaurants, cafes and bars do not accept Kuna from tourist but rather insist on US dollar's, Euro's or Sterling.

Can anyone advise me if this is true and if I should take a mixture of Sterling and Kuna or if this is total rubbish!

I've been to dbk a number of times and have never had the problem of not being able to pay with kunas...so i think you should be fine...i'll be there in early july too so maybe i'll bump into ya on those fantastic beaches! =)
